A Brown Betty is a round teapot that is made out of red Etruria Marl clay and a transparent or dark brown Rockingham Glaze. Named ‘Brown Betty’ because of its characteristics of the red clay and brown glaze. The red clay was discovered in Stoke-on-Trent in Britain in 1965. This clay resulted in a ceramic which seemed to retain heat better.
Please note that each print will vary very slightly, making each one one-off and unique. Offsetting may occur, we think add extra charm.
