The Sailor Rei series is a collection of pens with an Urushi laquer finish. Wajima refers to the region with a rich laquer technique tradition, Tamenuri refers to the transparent amber-colored top layer that has been repeatedly placed on a red middle layer. Under the influence of UV, the top layer gradually becomes lighter, and consequently, the middle layer becomes more visible.
