Mussels are a very popular dish in Belgium., moules-frites. This dish is a very old dish, with a history that dates back to 1781. Mussels were prepared in homes, especially during the wintertime when there was shortage of fish. An abundance of mussels can
be found by the coasts of the North Sea.
