The Belgian chocolate industry is about 400 years old. The history of Belgian chocolate dates back to 1635, during that time chocolate was mainly used by pharmacists as a tonic. More recently it has been very popular for Belgian chocolatiers to produce 'Bean to Bar’ chocolate, which means the maker manages every stage of the production of the chocolate from sourcing the
finest cacao beans, drying, roasting, grinding, tempering, moulding etc, using the high quality ingredients and methods.
